Distinction and resemblance are the main topics of “Mimicry”, the group exhibition of
\nEstonian Academy of Arts’\u00a0Jewellery and Blacksmithing Department’ second year
\nstudents.<\/p>\n

When we have to adapt to a new environment, community or a social situation, we need to
\nchange something in our being, even if it is some diminutive detail. Where lie the limits
\nbetween fine-tuning oneself for adaptation and losing an integral part of your being while
\ndoing so?
\nMany living beings use mimicry for successful survival and imitation is also a key survival
\ntrait in nearly all human populations. Popidols would not have such passionate popularity, if
\nthere were none who would like to be like them.<\/p>\n

The authors of the exhibition interpret the questions of adaptation and alienation,
\nresemblance and differentiation from both deeply individual and universally wide
\nstandpoints. Artists: Anete Meresaar, Hede Kalev, Joonatan M\u00e4ggi, Katariina Kriipsalu,
\nKlara Taberland, Kristiina Tang, Kristjan Tammj\u00e4rv, Madis Mattus, Tatjana Kuts\u00f5k, Oscar
\nNahan and Valdek Laur.
\nThe works have been supervised by Eve Margus-Villems and Nils Hint.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
